A good painting project doesn’t start when the first coat goes on.
It starts with a clear plan.
Most of our work takes place in lived-in homes across Dublin and the surrounding counties, where good organisation matters just as much as good workmanship. Every property is different, so before we begin, we take the time to understand the project properly and plan the work around the home, the people living in it and the finish we are aiming to achieve.
Painting and decorating should never feel rushed or unpredictable.
There is never any pressure to book immediately, but we do recommend planning larger projects a few weeks in advance whenever possible.
It gives us the time to organise the work properly, order the right materials, confirm colours and finishes, and prepare a realistic schedule before the first day on site.
Some projects move in stages alongside other trades. Others take place in fully lived-in homes where rooms need to remain usable throughout the work. Every project is planned differently, because every property works differently.
That planning is one of the reasons the work runs smoothly once it begins.
Every project starts with a conversation.
We discuss the property, the surfaces involved and the finish you’re hoping to achieve. For larger projects, we almost always visit the property first. It allows us to inspect the existing surfaces, identify potential issues early and recommend the most suitable preparation, primers and paint systems for the job.
Rather than guessing, we build a clear scope of works before we begin.
Knowing what needs to be done before work starts avoids unnecessary surprises later.
Preparation is where most decorating jobs are won or lost.
Protecting floors, furniture and surrounding areas is simply part of how we work. It isn’t an optional extra or something we advertise as special – it’s the standard we expect from ourselves on every project.
Surfaces are cleaned, repaired, filled and sanded where required before any coatings are applied. Different substrates require different preparation and we choose the products accordingly rather than forcing the same system onto every surface.
Only once everything is properly prepared do we begin painting.
From sharp cutting-in and consistent coverage to tidy working practices throughout the day, every stage is completed with the same attention to detail. At the end of each working day we leave the property as clean, organised and usable as possible particularly in homes where families continue living during the project.
Before we consider any project complete, we carry out our own final inspection.
Every surface is reviewed carefully. Any small imperfections are corrected before we invite the homeowner to walk through the completed work with us.
If anything still needs attention, we deal with it.
Only once both we and the homeowner are happy with the finish do we consider the project complete.
That approach has never been about chasing perfection for marketing purposes.
It’s simply the standard we expect every time our name is attached to a property.
