House Painting FAQs

1. What type of paint do you use?

We generally work with trusted brands such as Dulux, Fleetwood and Colourtrend, choosing the system to suit the surface, the room and the level of durability needed. The aim is not simply to use a well-known brand, but to use the right product for the job.

2. How many painters will be in my home?

That depends on the size and scope of the project. Smaller jobs may involve one or two painters, while larger house repaints may require a slightly bigger team. In most cases, the number remains manageable so the work stays organised and the house does not feel overcrowded.

3. Do I need to be at home while you’re painting?

No. Many clients are out during the day and we are used to working in occupied homes in a careful and independent way. If you prefer to be at home, that is perfectly fine as well. In either case, the work is carried out tidily and the property is left secure at the end of the day.

4. What do I need to prepare before the painters arrive?

Usually not very much. Floors, furniture and surfaces are protected as part of the work, and smaller items can simply be moved if needed before the job begins. If you prefer to clear certain personal belongings in advance, that can help, but it is not usually essential.

5. What kind of preparation work do you actually do?

Preparation is a large part of the job. Depending on the condition of the surfaces, this may include filling minor defects, sanding, treating stains, preparing woodwork and dealing with other issues before the finishing coats are applied. A good result depends heavily on that stage being done properly.

6. What if I don’t like the colour I picked?

That happens more often than people think. Colours can look different once they are on the wall, especially depending on light and room orientation. Where needed, sample patches can be used first so the colour can be judged properly in the space before the main work begins.

7. Do you offer eco-friendly paint options?

Yes. Where suitable, we can recommend lower-VOC or water-based systems that are better suited to occupied homes. The right option depends on the surface, the room and the level of durability required, so it is usually best discussed at the start.

8. Do I need to repair any damage before the painters arrive?

Not usually. Minor cracks, marks and surface defects are often dealt with as part of the preparation. If the issue is more significant or structural, that would normally need to be assessed separately before painting begins.

9. How do I get a quote?

The simplest way is to get in touch with a few details about the property and the work you have in mind. From there, the next step is usually a visit or short discussion so the scope can be understood properly and priced clearly.

10. Is there a warranty or guarantee on the work?

If something is not right once the work is complete, it should be raised and looked at properly. The aim is always to leave a job finished to the agreed standard and to deal fairly with any genuine issues that may arise afterwards.

11. Can you provide references or examples of your previous work?

Yes. Examples of recent projects can be seen in the gallery and throughout the website. If references are needed for the right type of project, that can also be discussed.
